I did not see that coming. Rooth from Norway is officially the Greatest Athlete in the World. I thought is was going to Germany. But this was impressive.
And Ledecky added another gold to her pile. I think she will need a bigger shelf.
And yes, I do have the day off.

Somebody tore up the script for the final. I knew that including Femke Boll in the Netherlands squad would change things - I wasn’t expecting it to change the Gold medal recipients!

Dang. I was not planning on watching archery, but daaaaam. The American and the Korean wound up grouping all 10’s leading to sudden death. I didn’t know archery HAD sudden death. But given that there using bows and arrows, that makes sense.
Oop, and Korea was millimeters closer for the Gold. That was actually a nail-bighter.

I watched some Team Foil this morning and simply couldn’t stand any more yelling and fist pumping but especially the arguing with the refs.
Guessing I’d be a terrible ref. What? Screw you, with your sloppy point work and hopping around! Out you pixies go, through the door AND the window!
Doubles in epee should be a 1 point subtraction for each fencer.

I just wish the silver and bronze winners would stop doing it, do they not realize the whole point is that it’s supposed to prove gold is real because it’s soft enough to bite? I don’t think that’s true of bronze.
