HOW TO PRONOUNCE IT:
Wiener is spelled and pronounced just like Oscar Mayer. Which makes me P. Wiener. Or P.G. Wiener. Mom did her best to avoid problematic names, but the initials evaded her notice. Then again, I was somehow the first in the family to realize that when Dad was drafted into the Army as a doctor, he was promoted from Private Wiener to Captain Wiener but retired as Major Wiener. I have no idea how the good people at the bank manage to keep a straight face when they ask for him. Technically, you didn’t need to know this to know how to pronounce the name, but, really, you kind of needed to know it, don’t you think?
