Originally from Colorado. I didn’t live in or around Durango but I’ve been there many, many times.

Avalanche feels familiar in that “this matches my memories” sort of way. Even though I’m pretty sure I’ve never been to that specific lodge, the film could very well be someplace in Steamboat Springs or Aspen or Purgatory or back when Pike’s Peak was resort-y because it all looked like that. And it was the 70s and early 80s so the nicotine stained wood panel walls, feathered cuts, and unfortunate music were fixtures as well.
