1003 Merlin’s Shop Of Mystical Wonders 1004 Future War 1005 Blood Waters Of Dr. Z 1006 Boggy Creek II: And The Legend Continues 1007 Track Of The Moon Beast
As a refresher:
You can submit one to three screenshots in comments on each post. Please keep your images at minimum 800px x 600px and 72 dpi. File type does not matter. YES, screenshots of host segments are welcome too!
If you’d ALSO like to throw in a favorite riff, choose one that’s relatively short. Remember to include the timestamp of where it happens in the episode. Ideally the riff should make sense when used in context with the screenshot(s) you’ve chosen. Riffs are optional, though, and if you’d rather just share screenshots, that is fine too.
All of this info will be collected and may be used in the Gizmoplex library! Your contributions are greatly appreciated, even if you can’t participate on every post. There’s zero pressure to do EVERY episode. Whatever you can do will help.
48:19 - Forrest J. Ackerman, reading his own magazine, and on the cover, Gorgo (did the Brains know who this was, I didn’t catch a riff refence to him?) Kevin quips… “Ah, life is good, I live in Maui, and I’ve got a monster mag”
Thanks, I’m currently working on more from Moon Beast, and there are so many riff gems to choose from!
Track of the Moon Beast
13:43
Cathy - “That’s great stew, what’s in it?”
Longbow - “Oh, a lot of things…”
Servo - “Rattlesnake, Velveeta…”
Longbow - “Chicken, corn, green peppers, chili -“sigh”- onions, uh…”
Mike - “Hair…”
Regarding 1003: After saying “Farewell” to MST3K, finding out there was still one more new episode weeks later was just that little bit weird.
As for the episode itself: The fact it’s a unique combo of 1990s TV and 1980s Film makes this one feel like you’re getting two mini-episodes for the price of one. It’s a lot of fun!
55:16 -“What’s happening to the Indian in the painting?” - “Oh, he’s in the cupboard” - Mike (not as exciting an image, but later we get one of the eps better riffs… “I know what you’re thinking.” - “I’m boring and my slide show eats.’” - Longbow/Servo)
^ It’s ones of my favorites - and kudos to Leigh Drake -they went after her characters clothes, intelligence, etc, but she was a good sport about it (and she seems like a nice person IRL, going by the DVD interview)
The Blood Waters of Dr. Z
12:43 - “We’re going to do something about your size, you can’t battle people being 2 feet long” - “Unless your Doug Flutie” - Dr Z/Crow (a little something for our Bills fan on the forum)
One more thing about 1003: Whenever the second half tries “continuity” with the first half, it becomes downright hysterical, because the picture quality and fashions suddenly change whenever Merlin is on-screen!
This is another strong quintet of episodes. Track of the Moon Beast is another standout. The “Amateur Homebrew” genre is one my favorite MST’d genres.
Pick a riff, this section is a hoot
46:21 - “Oh good, now she has to raise her own horrible husband” - “That’s what most wives think they do anyway” - Mike/Crow
46:30 - “Great, a sarcastic baby” - Servo
46:33 - “Now the kids going to write continual bad reviews about his mother’s lousy care” - Mike
46:42 - “So, now he’s his own father?” - Crow
1:11:24 - “It’s the Berserker residence” - Servo Funny thing about this riff is that Jimmy Clem played a Viking berserker in the Charles B. Pierce film, “The Norseman”
