Episodes 603-607: Share your screenshots and favorite riffs!

The Dead Talk Back is SUCH a weird episode and we don’t talk about it nearly enough. Y/Y?

As a refresher:

You can submit one to three screenshots in comments on each post. Please keep your images at minimum 800px x 600px and 72 dpi. File type does not matter. YES, screenshots of host segments are welcome too!

If you’d ALSO like to throw in a favorite riff, choose one that’s relatively short. Remember to include the timestamp of where it happens in the episode. Ideally the riff should make sense when used in context with the screenshot(s) you’ve chosen. Riffs are optional, though, and if you’d rather just share screenshots, that is fine too.

All of this info will be collected and may be used in the Gizmoplex library! Your contributions are greatly appreciated, even if you can’t participate on every post. There’s zero pressure to do EVERY episode. Whatever you can do will help.

Also, I’ll say this: if there’s only one thing that I have to fault The Dead Talk Back for, it’s that the filmmakers didn’t give us quite enough Henry Krasker. He’s easily one of the most memorable characters in the MST3K canon.

606 - The Creeping Terror

(image/riff taken approximately at 15:38)

Mike: “He almost showed an emotion there!”

(image/riff taken approximately at 25:56)

Mike: “Guy always sits next to me on the bus.”

Oh, it’s true!

OH INDEED

That movie didn’t deserve Henry Krasker.

Wasn’t this the movie that was found buried inside an editing machine decades after it was made? You just know there’s an interesting story that led to it being straight-up ditched unreleased.

Apparently so!

According to the IMDB trivia section:

Shot in 1957, the film was never seen outside of an editing machine until 1993, when it was discovered by Sinister Cinema at the old offices of Headliner Productions. Sinister bought the rights to sell it on video in 1993.

Well, got my VHX downloads today and am watching The Dead Talk Back, so here are a few more…

Frank says “Howdie”

14:51 - “The pizza dominatrix!” - Servo

23:28 - Krasker shows how a simple tin-foil ball can help one communicate with the dead

Not sure where…but in Bloodlust another quote that floats around the house a lot in conversation:

“I’ll have what I’m having”
