You can submit one to three screenshots in comments on each post. Please keep your images at minimum 800px x 600px and 72 dpi. File type does not matter. YES, screenshots of host segments are welcome too!
If you’d ALSO like to throw in a favorite riff, choose one that’s relatively short. Remember to include the timestamp of where it happens in the episode. Ideally the riff should make sense when used in context with the screenshot(s) you’ve chosen. Riffs are optional, though, and if you’d rather just share screenshots, that is fine too.
All of this info will be collected and may be used in the Gizmoplex library! Your contributions are greatly appreciated, even if you can’t participate on every post. There’s zero pressure to do EVERY episode. Whatever you can do will help.
618 High School Big Shot 619 Red Zone Cuba 620 Danger!! Death Ray 621 The Beast Of Yucca Flats 622 Angels Revenge
Starts - 1:11:39
Crow: "Hello, I’m Crow T. Robot of the Satellite of Love. You know, The Beast of Yucca Flats, Skydivers and Red Zone Cuba are just three examples of the many, many god awful films made during this century. Tragically, films like these are not deteriorating fast enough. That’s why I urge you to support FAPS: The Film Anti-Preservation Society. At FAPS, we’re devoted to allowing the films of Colman Francis, and countless others, to die a gentle, natural death. We’ll use your donations to transfer these films to fragile, volatile silver nitrate stock, so they’ll rot quickly into nature’s compost…"etc, etc
There is nothing worth screen-capping at the 1:05:07 mark of The Beast of Yucca Flats, but the riff “This movie stops at nothing … and stays there.” needs a shot at making it to the Gizmoplex.
Agreed. I thought about including it in my post, because even beyond Yucca it just describes Colman Francis’ movies so well. But as you pointed out, it makes for an incredibly dull picture.
There have been times when I took an image from a bit earlier or later than the riff to better illustrate the riff or provide a better screencap.
Lesley has only said that the riff should make sense in context with the image, not that they need to come at the same moment.
If Leslie loves The Starfighters more than anyone, you might say the same for me and my love of High School Big Shot. Here’s another group, all from the same action - Tom gets thrown out of the theater for singing “Don’t Pay the Ferryman”
