Forgotten, obscure, and just plain bizarre cameos

“Hey, don’t judge me. I saw Pink Flamingos!”

Who can forget the Hulk Hogan cameo in Gremlins 2: The New Batch?

Maybe the people who had the VHS version and instead saw a cameo by John Wayne('s impersonator):

IMDB’s trivia section for the movie claims that Chad Everett provided the voice of the Duke, on the recommendation of John Wayne’s son, Michael. If true, that’s another obscure cameo!

Brad Pitt appearing for all of two seconds in Being John Malkovich.

Nothing happens, but it’s funny as HELL.

One of my favorite weird cameos of all time is Jesse Ventura and Alex Trebek (!!!) as two Men in Black in The X-Files

The Vanisher, from Deadpool 2 (2018), just one of a ridiculous number of cameos in that film.

And then there’re Alan Tudyk (right) and “Dickie Greenleaf” (a.k.a., Matt Damon) (left).

I just remembered one more that I’ve never understood…

To this day I don’t think anyone knows exactly why he was in this movie

The only thing I can think of is it’s an inside joke based on all the shout outs and Pop culture References in the books, (There were so many of them, I’m sure there were a few involving Marvel)

It’s also got to be one of his strangest Cameo rolls…

Marilyn Manson was in Lynch’s Lost Highway, very briefly. I don’t if he was credited officially or not, though.

Pretty sure Bobby Blake was credited as “Mystery Man” in the same movie, but I’d still call that a cameo, mainly because who would recognize him!

Yup, he was credited — as “Porno Star #1”.

His wife? Oh, right…

I thought this bit in Thor: Ragnarok (2017) was hilarious.

From left to right, Matt Damon as “Actor Loki,” Luke Hemsworth (Chris Hemsworth’s brother) as “Actor Thor,” and Sam Neill as “Actor Odin.”

And though I haven’t seen it yet, not only do these three reprise their roles in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), but a few others also get in on the act.

Melissa McCarthy as “Actor Hela.” Her husband, Ben Falcone, apparently also appears as the “Asgardian Stage Manager” of this little theater troupe.

That movie was a Hemsworth family affair. The girl was Chris Hemsworth’s daughter and the “wolf woman” was his wife.

Tropic Thunder was chock-ful of the most bizarre roles, cameos, and supporting bits. I can’t decide which was my favorite…Matthew McConaughey or the actor playing Les Grossman.

Who I did not recognize until the very last second during the dance sequence!!! :flushed:

I still say the greatest cameo had to be Darryl…

I did spoil myself the day before I went to see it… but I wasn’t expecting them to actually mention him by name…

(Of course I’m pretty sure it doesn’t mean Team Thor is canon yet, but still I’m all in favor of more Darryl… I’d love a D+ show of Darryl and Korg as roomates…)

Not sure if it’s a cameo because it was so close to when he hit it big as a musician, but it always catches me off-guard when Chris Isaak shows up in Silence of the Lambs.

As a lifelong George Romero fan, I will never not mark out for Romero popping up in Silence of the Lambs.

You’ve got Roger Corman in there, too, presumably telling people that they’re over-budget.

Christian Slater in Star Trek VI.

In Hook, the pirate that went into the Boo Box was Glenn Close.
