Either word seems problematic, frankly.
As I have been working from home the last few years, I have gotten used to using chat programs like Slack and Discord that have Gif functionality built in that makes it extremely easy to use Gifs. As a result they are used quite often.
I once experimented upon my colleagues by only communicating via Gifs one entire Friday to see if anyone would notice. No one did, and I still have not told them, as I plan to run the experiment again.
Anyway, I just dropped by this thread to see how many Gif only responses it would get, sorry for the derail…
I too have been remote for quite some time. I used to take a break from work and go for a walk with some regularity. One day I didn’t say anything, but instead posted a gif of Christopher Walken. I did that every time, always with a different Christopher Walken gif, for several weeks. After about 3 weeks, everybody would see it and tell me to enjoy my walk. I never explained it, but they understood me. I miss working with those guys.
It’s pronounced gif.
You’re all saying it wrong.
And here’s Johnny’s inner sanctum helpmate, Mrs. Reese!
