I think this is a Discourse thing, but can we make a hack to control embedded video/audio?

I have to know in my heart of hearts this has been discussed elsewhere, but since, being a music/TV/video oriented forum, the default setting for restarting embedded, say, youtube videos is very annoying, once one scrolls above or below the cache in one’s browser.

I’m not complaining, exactly. I do think, well, am positive, that one can make a GreaseMonkey script to fool this weak-tea default behavior, but the closest I’m willing to make a stab is write a little script in Python and trust a semantics-translator to put it into JS, which I hate and refuse to learn.

There are some smarties on here, so any thoughts?
