I’m sure that the poster to YouTube might be a younger person (the video appears to be a promotion for Dry Bar Comedy, a media streamer). Stephen Wright did have a lot of one-liners as part of his stand-up, but he operated on a different level than the one Geechy Guy had.
Most one-liners? Tim Vine might dispute that.
It makes me said to think of how many of the cast we’ve lost the past few years. Bob Hastings, Efram Zimbalist Jr., Arleen Sorkin, David Warner…
Trying to imagine Torgo at 82.
“I watch TV all day at earth-shaking volume while the Master is away.”
“tHe MaStEr SeNt Me HeRe To BuY a CaN oF pEaChEs. I hAvE a CoUpOn HeRe SoMeWhErE.”
Happy Birthday, I’m sure the Master approves, Torgo, old buddy!
82 YO Torgo writing a check for his peaches, now only 18 cents, thanks to his coupon!
Yesterday the funeral for diplomat and former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson was held in Santa Fe:
“Very saddened to hear that Michael McGrath our first and most beloved Patsy in ‘Spamalot,’ has passed away,” wrote Monty Python member Eric Idle. “Warm hugs to all the ‘Spamalot’ family and very happy memories of a lovely man.”
Frak cancer…
“I have no fear of death, it brings no sorrow!”
RIP Roger Whittaker, mellow folk sensation and big Asia fan
(Though IRL his knowledge of Geography was terrible. Durham is situated by the River Wear, not the Tyne).
Jim Henson and Douglas Adams, two deaths right out of left-field that really hurt.
Just released a week or so ago, a collection of writings, photos and other stuff from Douglas Adams’ childhood to his death. The book is called “42” and has scripts, programmes, essays and all sorts.
Trivia from the book: The Krikkit Robots from “Life, the Universe, and Everything” were originally submitted to the BBC as the basic (and rejected) idea for a potential Dr Who script.
I may have told you this before, but the author of that is a friend of mine. Very nice guy. He also did all the animation for the Hitchhiker’s TV series.
