Yoohoo! my package has reached Independence Kentucky. Only 2429.6 miles to go!
Humble brag over here- working out so you can lift that gigantic box and open it one handed…
MY KICKSTARTER PACKAGE HAS ARRIVED!!!
Open it up and watch out for snakes, my friend.
Oh I opened it the second it got in the house. I adore the coins, the shirts and hoodie are wonderfully soft, the popcorn bucket and drink cup are amazing, and the snow globe is just beautiful! Once I have the display worthy items in a display case I’ll post pics.
Received my rewards and updated the survey. Everything looks great!
My goods are scheduled to arrive Friday.
Finally, nobody will be able to stop me from filling a popcorn bucket with macaroni and cheese and bacon!
FedEx just sent me the customs bill for my order, which only left the warehouse on Monday evening. Cheaper than I expected, but FedEx still took their £11 extra!
I don’t want to tempt fate here, but the tracking says it’s in Stanstead GB, and it’s usually delivered to me the next day from there, so maybe, just maybe, I will get a delivery tomorrow or Friday (though the current FedEx prediction is still Monday)…
ELVIS?!?
Mine is in Dallas!
Dun dah… Dun dah… da da, da da da da. Dun dun dun da da dahhhhh!
I have found that shipping from US to GB is sometimes ridiculously fast. I once had a record to send to a friend and I lazily didn’t do it for a couple of weeks and then I finally did and he emailed me a few days later with “oh wow it usually takes over a month!” and I’m like “oh crikey you could have had it a long time ago” and he was like “why did you say ‘crikey’ when I’m the British one” and I was like “you said ‘oh wow’ like a California surfer dude” then he was all “I think part of this conversation has been altered for comedic effect” and here we are.
I am always surprised that in most cases, Items I get shipped from the States, a Country I can get in a car and be in within 45 minutes, usually take longer to receive than Items I’ve had shipped to me from England, China or Japan.
Anytime I see a shipping notice from the US, I put a 3 week window on my expected delivery day regardless of shipping expectations. It it does arrive quicker, well that just gravy.
We (the UK) are quite spoiled as Royal Mail do really well, it helps that we are so small.
For the most part we can post a letter today up until 5pm and unless it’s really remote it will be delivered anywhere else in the UK tomorrow, perhaps as early as 9am. Parcels might take a day longer, and you can pay less for a slower service if you wish, but all in all it’s very impressive.
Our postcodes are very smart as well, unless it’s very densely populated building like a high rise, you could risk putting a surname and a postcode on an envelope and it will probably get delivered, albeit a little slower - the postie will figure it out! There are many stories of people addressing letters like “To the old man who runs the corner shop with the missing left eye, London” and it gets there; I don’t know how the postman decides if it’s the old man missing an eye, or the corner shop.
