Married With Children Animated Series

I got word on Facebook that Fox sitcom Married With Children is getting an animated reboot.

All four of the original actors will be reprising their roles for voices.

I’m skeptical of this news given how juvenile and low-quality Spaceballs: The Animated Series was. Still though, Peggy Bundy looks cute in this style; I had quite a crush on her growing up.

What do you think?

The first 3 years of the live-action show were some of the freshest, best-written and funniest sitcom episodes at the time. Few people saw them when they aired because Fox had very small audiences at first.
The show gradually became one of the lamest, most poorly-written things on television. I’m guessing this version will be more like the later live-action seasons.

Wait, is Cheech coming back too?

Come on, who didn’t love the season with Seven? And then the next season when it was all a dream?

That show would never work today. A family of four supported on a single shoe salesman’s salary? A shoe salesman with a salary?

To be fair, they had good reasons for saying the previous season had been a dream, but the show was pretty bad by then.

I just want to know when they are going to bust out an animated series version of Get A Life.

Get A Life was already animated. In spirit.

I want an animated series of Clerks: The Animated Series.

But this will have to do, I suppose.

That’s funny.

This looks pretty fan-arty (decent fan art but still). Any official sources to cite before jumping the gun?

Here’s the story: ‘Married… With Children’ Plots Animated Reboot With Original Cast – Rolling Stone

Haven’t heard an update since then. The graphic probably is fan-art, but the project itself is (or was) real.

I’d not count my chickens. Not saying it isn’t happening but a project announced doesn’t mean anything until it’s getting worked on. AND there’s been that problem with studios canning stuff lately. Mostly WB Disco but not exclusively that.

Although this is Fox, meaning Disney, which hasn’t been as cancel-heavy so far so who knows?

Even that news about Willow has been walked back from “cancelled” to “takin’ a break but nothing is certain”.
