Holy cripes! Joel and Charlie slamming my town! (I mean, what they said is true, but…)
Could always be worse.
(I was born and raised in N.J.)
They definitely are not wrong in their assessment.
I know.
Did I misunderstand, or is this actually from before S13?
I was reading Legion Of Super-Heroes #96 today (the post-Zero Hour version) and, while some of our team is in the 20th Century, Cosmic Boy is seen wearing a T-shirt with emblazoned with “MST3K” in red. Now, seeing an MST3K reference in a DC Comic isn’t that unusual, mainly because of how much work Todd Nauck did for them and he’s a HUGE MSTie, but this was drawn by Lee Moder.
A counter-balance to the surprise appearance of a Legion comic at the end of The Astral Factor.
Tonight, on AEW Dynamite, there was a “Stampede Street Fight” (basically a hardcore/ No Disqualification match) between Samoa Joe and Chris Jericho, which ended when the latter used a forklift to put the former through a wall.
Now, I can’t prove this was a deliberate homage to the classic scene from Fugitive Alien, but I still couldn’t help but sing, “HE TRIED TO KILL HIM WITH A FORKLIFT!!!”
I wouldn’t call myself a “military brat” but I found myself living in various countries throughout my young life. That means I got exposed to what passes for cable in the foreign service: AFN. These networks often air custom-made PSAs in place of regular commercials and they tend to be… not great, to put it nicely. One time, they tried their hands at an MST3K hommage and here’s how it turned out:
I vaguely remember seeing this back in the day but it was before I properly discovered MST3K so you can bet that I didn’t get the whole reference.
I see the ferry dock from High School Big Shot AND the alleyway from Racket Girls !!
Maybe… the folks and our teachers and our clergy were right and there IS such a thing as too much TV.
As far as I can tell, that hasn’t had any new material since 2018.
Huh. Peanuts can be entertaining.
