Only 3.5 hours from me! I’m definitely going to try to make this one.
Hey same! Are you in the DC area or somewhere else?
DC area. Silver Spring.
Hey nice! I’m in Capitol Heights myself.
ROAD TRIP TO JOEL
I would love to do that road trip, but it looks to be about a 14 hour drive for me, and I already have plans that weekend. Ah well, you kids have fun with your Punch Rockgroins and Mother Crabbers.
I’m a Mother Crabber, live coral stabber, open to the waist no button shirt haver…
Booked!! Got VIP tickets for both nights and a reservation at Mahoning Inn! See you mother crabbers there!
ETA: I will be participating in the costume contest. I probably won’t win, but I’ll have a great cosplay for the next time we all get together!
I hoped I helped.
Too late now probably. The Mahoning is having a Vincent Price Tribute the next day. Sunday. If anyone’s interested. Many MSTies also love Vincent Price.
P.S. Too late for Brina since she already booked but for everyone else consider The Price Sunday if you’re thinking about going.
So the first Vincent Price movie about is about Jonah’s wife?
Oh wait that was Dr St phibes
Weird that they’re doing the sequel Phibes movie instead of the first. I suppose they figure if you’re interested in the event you’re already a Price fan and you know what you need to know.
In any event, the first Phibes movie is awesome.
Just found out about this. I will be devastated if I can’t make it to this… it’s literally close to my birthday and I’ve wanted to meet Joel since I was 13.
Between this and TSO announcing their tour dates, my week has been made.
One reason to regret the lack (so far) of S14: lost a golden opportunity to have some Dr. St. Phibes clones and an equal-sized gaggle of Synthias all going on a fishing trip or brandishing pinking shears while fashioning Kinga a ballgown or something.
I mean, the doc knows her line of work is dangerous. There’s no way she’d have skipped making some backup copies.
They have themed days and weekends throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall. They’ve been the only completely retro drive-in in the country for a decade. My guess is they did the first Phibes earlier. When they return to a theme, they use different films.
The day before MST Weekend The Mahoning is showing A Clockwork Orange (1971) on October 3rd. For those already in the area or considering going Friday and Saturday. Here’s another option.
I wouldn’t be able to make that anyway; I have to head home to be ready to go to work the next day on Sunday. I love Vincent Price, but honestly I’d want to see The Tingler or The House on Haunted Hill rather than the two named there anyway.
Those are some excellent points!!!
There are never enough Synthia’s, or Dr. St. Phibes!!!
That Mahoning Inn isn’t looking especially attractive to me. Anyone else staying somewhere else locally?
I’m too far away to even consider attending this event, but every time I see this topic, I wonder how is “Lehighton” pronounced?
