NASA’s what now?

Never heard of Landsat being referred to as a Satellite of Love before.

Seems like just something this Inverse site says. Can’t find it elsewhere. Someone there is a MSTie?

I always assumed that the ISS was where NASA didn’t pry into zero-G experiments between consenting astronauts, but hey, maybe this author knows something we don’t. Or yeah, the author is a MSTie.

It seems to be a Lou Reed reference. Maybe Joel is a fan too?

It is known.

Lou Reed wrote a song about Landsat?

Why not? Telstar and Sputnik both got their own songs.

But Sputnik and Telstar were rebels. Swinging, hip, happening. Orbiting before it was cool; relaying communications, only ironically. Landsat is like, the dork brother satellite who knows the names of all the state capitals. In alphabetical order.

It’s a fair point. Probably should have gotten a song from They Might Be Giants, in that case.
