Photography: Gear, Greats, and Miscellany.

Huh, gear. I like gear.

I started with old Polaroids, back when you had to rub a chemical stick on the color shots. I “graduated” to a Konica 35mm, but I don’t remember the model. I started “shooting” Canon when I got a Canon 300mm telephoto lens and mounted it on my Konica.

Since I was already scanning my negatives to edit in Photoshop when Canon came out with the 300D, Digital Rebel, I grabbed that and kind of never looked back.

My current Canon kit has a 40D and the 7Dmk2.
My glass is:
the 4.5-5.6; 100-300mm I mentioned
4.5-5.6; 100-400mm L
2.8; 17-55mm efs
2.8; 100mm maco L mk2
1.8; 50mm mk2
plus a Sigma 3.5; 10-20 for the wide stuff.
And other stands, umbrellas and lighting…stuff.

I just gravitated toward Canon, but I did like how they had good, fast lenses and telephotos.

The 7D with the 100mm combo is amazing. And also tough as hell as I, gratefully, found out.
