(Okay, a significant exaggeration except in a very few places, but still gets to the core of the problem. Even if it’s a four hour drive to the airport, and a four hour drive from the destination airport to the actual destination, and two hours to get through security and wait in lines at the airport, you haven’t saved any time and have spent an awful lot more money.)
