Looks… disturbing
It’s a semi true story…
I won’t post it here because there’s some salty language but there’s a new documentary called Casa Bonita Mi Amour about how the South Park guys used their incredible wealth to buy complete money pit Casa Bonita.
It was a bit of a money pit, but the bloody place is at capacity every night. Granted they still haven’t opened the entire restaurant as it’s friggin’ huge, but the shine is not off the rose yet for folks who want to go.
You can only get in if you are on their mailing list, and then it’s a lottery for reservations. It’s completely nuts.
Yeah I’ve been on the mailing list for months and crickets
I visited Casa Bonita in the 80s and it was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done.
The fact that it’s now pretty much just a private club for South Park dudes doesn’t make me want to go back.
My mom and I toured it before it “reopened” (this was August '21) and it was it really cool tour. The guide said that when the pandemic came a lot of employees left their stuff thinking they’d be back at work in a few days. That didn’t happen but she said everyone who wanted to stay was given something to do working there so they didn’t have to lay off anyone. Her job was giving tours!
We went there on one of our very few non-NorthDakota vacations and had a blast. Don’t remember anything about the food but indoor cliff diving was cool
New V/H/S coming soon, this time with a space theme.
Warning, some brief bloody violence (though not gore) in the trailer.
Jack Black. Why am I not surprised?
She’s on my “Kim Cattrall to my Crow T Robot” actress list in the top 5 so it’s nice to see her in this kind of scream queen role again.
Speaking of my list, another “forking” hottie. Dax, you lucky man.
Odd they didn’t share the Nightbitch trailer - it’s out there, and it looks weird, a new mother turns into a dog (it has an F-bomb which is why I didn’t post it). Heller can be hit and miss, I didn’t like The Diary of a Teenage Girl, but did enjoy A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
The one that intrigues me on that list is The Return - they write
Who doesn’t love an update to a Greek Epic? We know we do, particularly one that stars Ralph Fiennes as Odysseus. The Return gives us a peek into Homer’s Odessy’s less frequently adapted pages as it picks up after Odysseus has been to war, returned, and precisely what happens once he comes home. These are some of the more exciting but less televised portions of The Odyssey, which are filled with romance and palace intrigue. The Return picks up right as Odysseus washes onto the shore, and he finds his way back to his throne and the bed of his lady love, played by Juliette Binoche.
“That’s not us”! ROFLMHWPCAO
Yes… Dax is a lucky mother forking Crabber…
Sigh.
Team Piz btw.
Update: I have been invited to become a Founding Member of Casa Bonita! (I have declined as I live a thousand miles away from it, but my mom joined). Reservations open on Sept 16!
I always thought Duncan was Veronica’s Angel, Logan was her Spike, and Piz was her Riley.
(Mac was her Willow.)
