RIFFED! (a total ripoff of Framed)

Eventually I figured out, by frame 4, that this was riffed by The Film Crew. I kinda sorta remembered a caper involving a pier? I’m realizing I’ve only seen this one once. Gotta dig out my DVD.

Also I could not remember the title.

Frame 6 is priceless, thanks for that!

Frame 5 for me.

After seeing 5 , 1 and 3 look much more familiar…

But, if I go in order, it’ll be a while before I get a chance to rewatch this one.

Wow I actually kind of got this at frame 1?!?

1: hmm some kinda technology but looks relatively recent? Like maybe a Robot Wars type thing?
2: that also looks like it might be Robot Wars especially since we already did Space Mutiny
3: seems kinda familiar in a Robot Wars sort of way
4: starting to think it might actually be Robot Wars
5: hey! That was in Robot Wars!
6: hit 'em again!

more

No idea why I seem to be better at the most recent ones, given that I’ve only seen most of them once or maybe twice – compared to 3 or 5 or 8 times for older ones – and especially since I only had one eye on the movie during the last season since my other eye was reading forum posts. So… shrug

Frame one reminded me of an episode of Kolchak

Frame two reminded me of Robot Holocaust

Frame three? (checks to see if this is a bonus round)

Frame 4… yeah, no idea

Frame 5… hmm, now that name is familiar

Frame six - nearly foiled again by a recent season ep, thankfully “POW!” I got it by the skin of my teeth

Frame 1: Whatever it turns out to be, I’m going to be annoyed with myself for not recognising it from this frame. I thought I had an eye for blinkenlights.
Frame 2: Much more recent than I expected. It’s only in the 1990s when painting ductwork hot pink was considered chic. I was right, though. Control panel by torchlight => Robot Wars.

Frame 5, but definitely should have gotten it earlier.

Got it on Frame 3!

Same. It was the combination of neon and stupid-looking technology.

Frame 2. That’s the only one I could think of that had that color of weird underground hiding place.

There are others, but this would have to be a really good print of any of them. I suppose Robot Holocaust would be believable, but we already did that one.

This is my third in a row Frame 1 victory!

Frame 1: Color. Bank of buttons. Why do so many of these movies have buttons or gauges or switches‽
Frame 2: Oh. Gotta be Robot Wars with that fancy pipework of the “past.”

It’s essentially filler. Either blinking lights, flipping switches or both. It gives the editor some padding room to cut between elements or scenes. You can’t do that with a normal background. You could look at it as an advantage in some ways.

I’m just bitter that @MichaelRobertson expects me to pay attention to every. single. one. if I want to do well in this game.

Frame 6 for the bonus, and Frame 2 for today.

I’ll just spoiler this whole thing to he safe:

For me, it wasn’t the specific lights and buttons that gave it away, but rather, the fact that they were illuminated by a flashlight.
