RIFFED! (a total ripoff of Framed)

I haven’t seen this one, so every frame made me more confused. :upside_down_face:

Frame #1! I watched this one not too long ago. It was perfect viewing while assembling Adirondack chairs.

Highly recommended if you’re into RiffTrax riffs. It’s just about every ‘80s movie trope crammed into one silly martial arts movie. Plus a Belgian playing a Russian, which is made considerably easier by the fact that I’m not sure he utters a single word.

Sounds vaguely familiar. Almost got tricked a few times…but I haven’t seen this one…yet!

(Didn’t get #28 either…not one I watch regularly…because of reasons!)

Figured it out from Frame 2, because of the main character’s family moving from L.A. to Seattle.

I remembered the movie. couldn’t think of the title.

The Cheesy Movie Circus Tour was such a fun show!

Didn’t ‘stump the chump’ today!

Got it in 2

The moment I saw frame 2 I was like, well the sky’s too hazy to be Century 21 Calling, so it’s gotta be from one of the funniest live shows I’ve ever attended, one of the last shows I saw before they shut everything down and there were no more shows for anyone.

I think they even surpassed the Rifftrax version because they tapped into the Bruce Lee stuff so smartly. And also, because it was my introduction to several new cast members, like Emily

It sure was! It was the first Live show where I saw Emily and Yvonne as Mega Synthia, and it was likely the same for others as well.

Yes, although Emily did very little. At least on stage. No idea what was going on in the background.

Got it for sure by Frame 5!

Had an inking at Frame 3 that it “was one of the movies that was used on the MST Live tour a while back…” but the title didn’t occur to me until Frame 5.

Also: I’ll bet this was a fun experience to see in person!

In which I admit a thing: I could have gone to see this movie on that tour right here in town and just chose not to. My enthusiasm for new content was a in a different place pre-the S13 Kickstarter.

I feel shame. I’ll go to the box for a 5-minute major.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh indeed.

Despite the seeming giveaway of JCVD at frame 5, I wasn’t even sure I’d see this until frame 6 (and even then couldn’t think of the name). I think I only remember frame 6 because the white guy looks like lot like my first boyfriend.

@FlyingSquid

I kept thinking East Meets Watts too, except that wouldn’t have been in Seattle.

I knew it wasn’t the movie East Meets Watts, I just got confused on the title.

I was kind of the same, to be brutally honest…

Summary

I wasn’t so sure about Nu-MST, I wasn’t that hot for Jonah as host. I thought season 11 was okay, and 12 was m’eh (though there were episodes I liked a lot, such as Avalanche from 11), so I wasn’t really all in at that point.

Buuut, Joel was hosting, and it was hyped as his last tour… so I went, and that was the game changer. I had so much fun, laughed so hard, fell fast for the charming and funny Emily, and that’s what did it. That’s what lead me to backing my first kickstarter (for season 13), got me to rewatch 11 and 12 and reassess the show.

You can thank (or blame, lol) that live show for me being here on the forum.

Does my being certain by Frame #2 that I don’t recognise it (from never having seen it) count?

Wow. I was sure I hadn’t seen it, but I have. I just don’t remember it at all.

It all seemed a bit familiar, but nothing clicked at all until 6.

That roulette wheel spinning around in Frame 4 jogged my memory.

Also, I cackled at the last frame. HOW DARE YOU
