As for all those Chevy ads, I think most of them existed to convince us that the cars were already plenty safe without stuff we take for granted now: like seatbelts, airbags, and collapsible steering columns. (Speaking of spring action.) All of which the manufacturers successfully resisted for decades. The inevitable message every time is, We give you every possible chance to save yourself so if you can’t, it’s all on you, Doofus. :roll_eyes:
