Just found out something since last night. When I was reading the public brodcasting page on Wikipedia about the Japanese brodcaster NHK, here’s what I learned : I think that NHK is the PBS, the CBC, and the ABC (Australia) of Japanese television!

In the sense that it’s the public television station or is there a deeper parallel you wish to address? (It might be better to link it to the BBC, at least in terms of reputation.)

Random Facts Woman has been absentee as of late, but there is a reason guys; my current work schedule. Basically I’ve moved to shift work, and I’m so busy on my shifts that I rarely have time to trawl articles and websites for random facts that I can gussy up to be amusing for you all. I can try to begin looking for stuff on weekends, but sadly I think that my factoid posts will be fewer and fewer for a while. At least until I get the hang of my new shifts anyway. Keep your fingers crossed!

Except it’s technically not.

Alaska is the farthest North, East, and Western most point of the US. (it crosses the international date line, you see.) Hawai’i is the farthest south.

Still you were probably having more fun!

Just wait until the Earth’s magnetic poles flip, then Bob’s your uncle! Of course, then there’s a problem with it no longer being the northernmost state…

Bartenders who work nights are completely unsuitable for working during the morning and afternoon shifts, due to brain damage and other things such as dullardism, complete lack of taste in all humane pursuits, and psychopathic tendencies.

This has been known to hold true since the first bartenders were depicted in ancient Sumerian texts.

Hmmm… if Alaska purchases an island off the coast of Chile, that could work.
