Its moon dust.
We had a ‘what would your test subject name be?’ thread on the KS forum.
I decided mine would be ‘Bixby’.
This is a fun game! You’ve inspired me to choose O’Brien.
Might want to reconsider going with O’Brien. Unless you want to be mistaken for the leader of the Aryan Union (a free limo isn’t worth it)
I don’t think many people know who that is.
Any MSTie worth their salt would think ‘Miles’.
(And wonder why you didn’t choose ‘Vorkosigan’)
Oh, like the potatoes. Yep, that’s the mark of a true MSTIie all right.
[points at own username] Plus, we can totally hang out together!
Yay! My rewards arrived!
…except that they almost didn’t. Because FedEx is inept, and left the package three houses down, despite the box and my front door both being labelled with the correct number. Fortunately, by dumb luck, I opened the tracking page and spotted the “Delivered” status, along with a picture of the package on someone else’s front step. Also fortunately, the other house was in walking distance, so this fool and his rewards were no longer parted.
To whoever has oversight on reward fulfillment - I BEG YOU - for the next Kickstarter, please please PLEASE don’t use FedEx for shipping. They’re the literal worst. Like, the Manos of shipping companies.
Churchill Container dot com has our bucket is in their main-page slideshow of designs, which is cool. But I wish they also had an FAQ with some good instructions on how best to care for these things and keep them clean.
Trying to decide if it’s worth it to send a request email. Manufacturers are very bad at responding to this kind of thing, in my experience. [grumble]
Found a precarious perch in my home workspace for them. I do like the notion of turning them every day so an ever-revolving group of characters is facing me from across the room and silently admonishing me to work faster and sit up straight.
The USPS delivered my neighbor’s mail to me and mine to him (same house number, different street) so many times that we exchanged numbers so we could let each other know the next time.
UPS did the same for us with a package once (same house #, one street over, same day). Seemed really odd. It never happened before or since, though.
Looks great, I’m jealous! I knew I should have gotten a hoodie lol.
I just joined the “got my stuff in the mail” club today! The packing on my box was definitely a little unorthodox (I also got the totally unused bubble envelope for the stickers, which I threw in the closet with my other Ebay mailing supplies) but everything made it safe and sound.
Looking through the thread, I see a few people wondering about the dimensions/reusability of the popcorn bucket. It’s basically the same as the kind of souvenir plastic popcorn containers sold for buck or two extra at your local theater. The plastic material isn’t overly rugged but it’s perfectly adequate for holding a shareable amount of popcorn with toppings.
I have a couple of these that I’ve used for the last few years and they’ve held up great and are easy to clean. They’re hand-wash only, but it’s pretty easy with a little squirt of dish soap, water, and a quick wipedown with a washcloth/sponge on the interior. Otherwise, you just have to treat them with a little care.
I decided to buy some frames to display the postcards, and I think they look pretty sharp on the wall!
Came here just to see if anyone else saw that. Lol
Received my physical rewards today, pictured here (the two posters are in the tube, where they will likely stay for a while thanks to the lack of wall space) with the previously sent 3D Glasses.
VERY happy with everything, especially the snow globe (glad I stretched out and opted for it). However, I think I stared at the snow globe for too long and now every television program ever exists in a single continuity in my head thanks to the prolific career of J.K. Simmons.
It’s not my picture to share, but someone on Facebook posted their rewards from their $1000 backer payment and it was quite the incredible haul of stuff.
There is a striking resemblance between your avatar and that popcorn bucket. Why, if somebody had a bit of Photoshop skill (not me) to apply, they could do something with that.
