The 80s Thread - Do a lot of coke and vote for Ronald Reagan!

There was the sports card boom in this decade. I got nostalgic for my youthful collection from the late 60s/early 70s, and returned to it when shops started opening up in my town.

I remember in grade school in the 70s, trading for the one above, that was like the Holy Grail, about did backflips… “I got Bart Starr!!” I had to rebuy everything in the 80s because I had no clue where those cards got to. Mom probably sold them at a yard sale (and I had a Lew Alcindor/Kareem Abdul Jabbar rookie card, which I couldn’t afford to re-buy, it was too pricey by then!)

I also used to enjoy watching the original USFL, and picked up the complete card sets in '84 and '85

And VHS and video stores we talk about in another thread, but the first VHS I owned was Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan which was released in the late 80s. Later I bought a former rental copy of RoboCop that I watched constantly.
