Well, now we’ve all seen the Mylar short (or will see it soon if you weren’t watching live.) What was weird to me was that Frank did a callback to the bread short in the Mylar short, but I didn’t notice any callbacks to “Design for Dreaming” in the Motorama short.
I did send Chris a link to the short and some of the backstory on it.
Bra. Vo.
The male lead in A Touch Of Magic looks like Bill Nye and Neil Patrick Harris had a baby.
Also, from now on I want a dollar credit every time Frank brings up Chris Christie.
You owe .50 for bringing it up
I’m broke. Here, just take these 10 bottle caps and we’ll call it even. (They’re lined with yummy MYLAR!!)
The guy is still droning on about the many uses of Mylar
It was going into Bubba Gump territory
It’s Chris’s birthday today he’s officially forty now
One of us!
One of us!
Heeheeheeheehee
@Chris_Gersbeck is 40?! Get outta here, that guy’s like 30, tops.
Happy birthday Chris, however old you may be.
Just finished watching it and it was great! The Mylar short felt like an eternity, definite Deep Hurting vibes there.
I also loved the mentions of the Rifftrax Meat Raffle and Ruth Larson in the grocery short, as well as Trace’s MST mentions in A Touch of Magic. That short was also riffed in the 2017 Rifftrax Summer Shorts Live Show as well.
“Gimme’ them fish treats, Dad! I know they’re in there!!”
There’s a sale on for the Ed Wood riffs!
The movie for May 9 will be Teenage Zombies.
Some MST vets there. Batwoman’s Jerry Warren (director), Katherine Victor and Steve Conte, Don Sullivan (Giant Gila Monster and Rebel Set)
Picked up one of Frank’s non-fiction books before the Dumb Industry sale came to an end tonight.
I’m having it personalized, but I just put my first name in there because I didn’t know what else to have him write (“To Jake, my bestest pal and greatest fan, thank you for all the creative inspiration” - Frank Conniff)
BTW, I gave this one a go, I liked the premise.
But was tempted by Billy Gillis: 7 Year Old Screenwriter, if I like the other, I’ll try more.
Comedian Irene Bremis will be the Q&A guest Tuesday.
