The Mads Are Back

Just paid for my ticket. Movie looks like a winner for the Mads. It’s directed by Sam Newfield, whose movies have shown up a few times on MST - Lyle Talbot’s been riffed on as well.

Just got my ticket!!!

Then I noticed on the purchase confirmation screen Evenbrite offered me some other related events I could try. One a course on marijuana as an insomnia remedy and others on how to be trained to work in a dispensary in various states. My favorite is a discussion on fire safety hazards in a marijuana production plant.
All are totally related to the presentation tonight by The Mads according to AI

I thought it was outstanding, one of their better efforts - but movie warning - it can go down some grim paths - SPECIFIC SPOILERS - as I’ve said before, I’m okay with things like “High School Big Shot”, but I know not everyone is. There’s a suicide by hanging in this one as well - and the ‘kid killer’ stuff was milked for some laughs during the flick and the Q&A after, which I thought was funny… but yeah, it’s dark, and it might upset sensitive viewers

Ed Wood, watching the rough cut of Reefer Sadness here:

“I dunno’, Man. I think your tone is awfully didactic. You’re also kinda’ laying the message on too thick, and your dialogue might be just a wee bit stilted and repetitive. I mean…”

[ETA - But some of ladies outfits were nice. Ed woulda’ approved of those, I’m sure.]
