I lived there (well 29 Palms…about 14 miles from there) in the early 90’s and, you are correct, there were several groceries, bars, gas stations, etc. There’s a Walmart in Yucca Valley, which is 8 miles from Joshua Tree.

Affirmative. As previously mentioned in another post, the dude I followed was a Navy Medic stationed there. But it’s all just high desert spattered with a bunch of little po-dunk towns.

But there is a Wal-Mart! you can get your butt wipes there, if you wish.
