This Odd House

Oh you sweet summer child…

I told mr. wyswysia about this house and he didn’t believe me. So I showed him the pictures. He made me stop. I got to this one and realized you couldn’t pay me to walk down those stairs…

You could pay me, but only in advance.

The listing boasts “Soon to have new Updated plumbing!”

I pray to baby Jeebus that the old plumbing isn’t visible in this photograph. But based on the rest of the house I wouldn’t be surprised.

Destroy it.

What issues do you have with the baby balcony-slash-narrow playpen?

I think it’s more the room on the left that’s accessible only by very thin people.

Interesting molding decisions were made here…

OMG the Zillow estimate on that gigantic estate home is lower than the one on my house, I hate Silicon Valley so much

my house looks like this for reference

Zestimate: $2,418,500 this place is not real

That house is ugly. The movie room is great, though!

$2.5 million for that place… on 12 acres of land, between Washington and Baltimore?

Yeah, it’s definitely built on a hellmouth.

It’s like … everything shrank away from everything else at some point and got stuck there.

I mean, most of the colors are at least nice in that one, but why are there nearly twice the number of bathrooms as bedrooms??

Spinal Tap-esque ‘feet, not inches’ discrepancy when the contractor looked at the plan?

Connects directly to the all siding house, and is in fact the direct source of that property’s evil.

It makes me think of cheap student house conversions. My guess is someone cut in a new staircase or moved some walls around and figured they didn’t need no fancy rails. Cue red-faced huffing and a “fine! I’ll put up some railing!” when told were a requirement.

A strong possibility. I have seen some houses converted for multiple student occupancy with design decisions that make Dali look like Mr Set Square.

Of course if this property was in that there London the space between the bannister and the wall would be on the market as a ‘handsome bijou one bed flat in a fantastic location for £2500 pcm (plus bills)’

The alcove on the right is a good place for a potted plant, or a place to sleep if you come home on a Friday night with everything spinning and need a crib that you can’t fall out of.

I appreciate the ingenuity, but I’ll stick to the bath tub for that. Not that I……need a solution….like that. Too often.
