Awww and I was getting close to calling FlyingSquid delusional.
But okay, now we’ve got two people. Can we determine what might be in common between them that’s also distinct from others? It’s not merely being a Mac user. Perhaps it’s an incompatible OS version? Have you both got some weird video thingie thing installed?
gbmcneill - can you think of something that might have changed between last night and today on your system?

I am on a 27-inch 2017 iMac running macOS Big Sur version 11.6.8.
I’m on the most recent version of Chrome.

I just updated to the most recent Chrome (not sure why that hadn’t happened automatically) and still no luck recreating it here. Checking to see if I have a machine sitting around that has 11.6.8 on it.
Well what the heck? I accidentally unplugged my computer, so I had to reboot again and now it’s fine!

Just to be clear, was this a second reboot, or the first since the problem surfaced?

First since it surfaced. The first reboot seems to have caused it.
