Hello friends! Just giving y’all the heads up that Alternaversal, the company that makes MST3K, is hiring a Javascript Developer. You can get the details here, and please share this listing with any friends who might be suitably qualified too.
And yes, this could be a remote job, for the right candidate.
I would be absolutely perfect for this job apart from the fact that I don’t know Javascript from BASIC. Also I don’t work well with others and I’m kind of smelly, so the remote job is probably a good idea. How many months of vacation time do I get?
I’d do it if it meant a foot in the door at Alternaversal. Then I can post about my journey from coding to riffing to playing the next iteration of Tom Servo where me and Jonah are best friends and he comes to my birthday party.

"Dirt-cheap because they were so copious, lobsters were routinely fed to prisoners, apprentices, slaves and children during the colonial era and beyond. "
It just so happens that I am a Software Developer who counts JavaScript among my skills. I also just so happen to be not all that happy with my current employer. I am pretty sure I am the right candidate, brushing up that resume and rolling out that cover letter now…
Don’t worry, I will probably get the “you are overqualified” response. After which I will have to let them know I didn’t want the crappy job anyway, as I hold back tears and storm off in a huff…
That’s pretty much the way my typical interview ends, anyway.
There’s a rumor (started by me) that when they get to the final two candidates, the job will be won in a raisin snail eating contest. So, you know… skill dev and all. So ah Alternafolks, do let us know when you need an asset/vfx/vr artist with quite a res for a few things, hm? k thx bai
I’ve done a little JavaScript coding, but haven’t touched it in years and wasn’t exactly an expert at it the last time I did, unfortunately. Last programming I did was in GDScript and that’s closer to Python than JavaScript, ah well.
