What are you smiling about? The Non-Complaint Thread

The wife had sold 5 of her items yesterday evening on ebay to someone in Monroe, NC. about 20 minutes east of my locale… :open_mouth:
At first she bought one Christmas throw. She wanted to see a picture of the last one available… I sent her a pic of it in the packaging so then she bought the second along with other 3 additional items for a grand total of just under $300. It came to around $236 after ebay fees and shipping costs along with purchasing additional insurance. I was able to find a box big enough to fit them all into and dropped it off to UPS before they closed. They should receive it today based on the tracking. Pretty nice haul for ‘Christmas in July’ :+1:

My wife just messaged to say that she’s got to go to London tomorrow (boo!), but it’s to have a meeting at a little place called the Natural History Museum!

Doctors thought my best friend’s mom (my second mom) might be having a recurrence of her breast cancer due to an odd rash. She got her results from the high-def mammo and ultrasound…she’s CLEAR!

As for the rash, she said “oh, they have creams for that.”

I saw a family of wild turkeys with 8 or 10 babies while on a bike ride this morning! They’re not that small this late in the year, but they were still adorable and made me smile :grinning:

We’ve had a couple of flocks of turkeys move into city neighborhoods this year.

Keep your distance. Turkeys are little monster dinosaurs with sharp spurs and they will attack if they think you’re threatening their young.

Which is to say nothing of ostriches, which are basically the Omega Metroid from Metroid II: Return of Samus but with talons.

Well, -tough- talons.

My SO is roasting a bunch of vegetables to be used in salads for the upcoming week, and it’s making the house smell amazing.

We went to an upscale restaurant/pub (they let kids go, so we could take our daughter) today and they had waffle fries that they fried in truffle oil. So good. Totally worth $15.

I also had a lemon drop, which I’ve never had before and quite enjoyed.

I hauled in my first pint of blueberries today.

My mini-me scored the championship-winning run on a close play at the plate to win a softball tournament this afternoon. We have placed 3rd or better in all the tournaments we’ve entered. Not shabby for a small-city team. As assistant coach, I’m so dang proud. :smiling_face_with_tear:

We finished early today! The other people at the conference wanted to go out to a bar to celebrate but I don’t drink and when the conference leads are talking about how many drinks they’re going to have, I don’t have really any desire to be there. Plus, I’ve been really tired all day and I just wanted to be home. I’m glad I did, too, because that big thunderstorm would likely have been rolling through right when I was driving if I had stayed longer.

I do drink, but I’m just too old to go out for drinks after an event anymore. I’m happy just going to bed.

I went to a conference a few months ago. One night I kept trying to get people to move on to somewhere that served food. Eventually I just left and found something to eat on my own. I can’t do the all booze dinner, but the nearly retired people were all for it.

Got another bill from this medical service, which included the implication of a threat of legal action. I just called them, and she said to disregard that, it’s been figured out and I only owe them a mere $5 (which is much better than the hundreds they wanted). Yay

I had to file a grievance with my insurance because this company never filed a claim with them, they just sent me a bill… well, it’s a long complaint and this isn’t for that, but after months of this BS, it’s finally resolved. So happy to have that off my mind.
