I got to sleep in today this morning for the first time in almost two weeks. I still woke up within 30min of my usual time, but I don’t have anything to do today except watch cycling, soccer, cooking breakfast, and working on some personal projects.
So what about me? I use the patterns of expletives frequently but not the actual expletives themselves. Some weird mental block that they’re not in my idiolect.
Well, for pain it doesn’t have to be a swear, I’ve shouted gibberish when I’ve stubbed a toe or whatnot, let loose with a bunch of nonsense (kind of along the lines of mothercrabber) and it’s just as effective.
Any old letters strung together to form a word, even a made-up word will do. (Say, maybe that means I’m smart and imaginative, making up my own swears on the fly?)
I have such great people in my church. Since I can’t drive right now, and I need to get to my office, I asked if I could get rides for the next couple of weeks. Well, the Relief Society president (that’s the women’s organization) made up a calendar and I have rides set up for the next week. Some of them, I really haven’t met yet. The people who gave me a ride to church have only been in my ward for a month so I haven’t met them and they were still kind of enough to give me a ride (which involves carrying my scooter up and down a flight of stairs).
I build guitar effects pedals as a hobby. They don’t always work right away. This one sat on my fail pile for three years. Yesterday, I decided to finally fix it. I succeeded!
