I really think it was just an excuse to spend some time shooting in Hawaii, and working in lots or R&R along the way.
You might be on to something hahaha
At least we got Sid Dithers Ian McShane
Plus, a supporting role from the Cone Shell, one of my favorite varieties of shell ever!!
I was going to mock you for having a favorite kind of shell, but then I realized I do as well. My fave kind of shell is “and cheese”
Do not eat the Cone Shells 'N Cheese. We want you around for a long time yet.
What about the catchy music? I also liked that it had soap veterans Roy Thinnes as the title character and Eric Braeden as one of Lovejoy’s minions.
Drake, Drake! Rooty-toot-toot!
I’m guessing it was Quinn Martin’s attempt to start a Hawaii franchise like Hawaii Five-O.
Regardless, that’s one of my favorites. I love every episode with a '70s TV-movie.
I like the way they included the ordinary-looking parts of Honolulu and the working parts of the island in the show. I didn’t watch Hawaii Five-O enough to know if they also did that.
And the store that was all canned goods - I saw a lot of shops like that in Honolulu when I was there in the '90s.
do-do-do-da-do-do-do-do

I watched SO MUCH MST3K when I had Covid. Although I have to say, some of those experiments were pretty darn unpleasant with a high fever (I’m looking at you, Brain That Couldn’t Die, Wild Wild World of Batwoman, and Hobgoblins!). Glad to hear you’re on the mend!
For me Thinnes will always be the poor dope who gets sucked out of the 747 in Airport '75.
I blame @Goldash for putting it into my head to rewatch Munchie today. Last time I saw it, I was at BlobKon, gathering strength and support from a theater full of trusted friends.
Now that thing is in my living room.
Tonight’s episode:
Although, with my season 13 DVDs arriving the other day I think I will need to pause my orderly watchthrough to check those out.
Today’s random episode…bah dah DAH DAH! That’s right, it’s Agent for H.A.R.M. Spoiler: Panties, panties, panties.
Right now, I’m watching The Final Sacrifice. It’s been a long time.
That’s a favorite of mine.
The Mole People
If you remember how his character routinely assaulted his “girls” on General Hospital, in addition to just being an ungracious, cheating a-hole, that would probably be the best scene in the movie.
(No, seriously. The show’s wiki page for his character practically lists them off like it’s baseball scores. Blecchh!! Nice that he paved the way for Luke in the 1980s.)
