What's Going On With Your Weather?

It’s getting dark and windy outside, hope the power doesn’t go out, my pizza dough isn’t going to be ready for the oven for another hour.

What if the power goes out now, but comes back within the hour?

2 hours seems to be the bare minimum around here, so if the power goes out and doesn’t come back on automatically in a minute it’s pretty much guaranteed to be at least a couple of hours.

I hear thunder and the rain has started, but the winds have calmed down.

Aaaaand the cell fizzled out as it passed over, radar looks clear for the next hour or 2 so I should get my pizza cooked before the next line gets here. :crossed_fingers:

Sitting on the back porch, enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail. The wind picks up, trees start dancing, the everything stops. 3 or 4 times, so far. Nothing on radar for more than 20 miles or so.

We need the rain.

Cloudy and cool this morning but clear and cool now. Man, I love this kind of weather.

One more day of hot, today’s high in the high 80s, and then 70s (and maybe finally some rain!) all next week.

Finally, we have rain. 5 days of heatwave, then 2 days of a few pop-up storms that never tracked within 10 to 20 away.

Got half an inch of rain in one downpour at 11pm last night.

There was some thunder in the distance all afternoon while mowing the lawn but only a few drops of rain today so far.

Radar shows scattered cells all around.

After being in the high 90s all week today peaking at 88 felt so much cooler.

3rd day in a row with a heavy rain storm :open_mouth:
Yeah we’ll take it :+1:

Been outside getting drenched and it reminded me of this song from The Who :metal:

Looks like the rain has moved on for now. Local airport measured just over .25 inch. Forecast says we have a chance of showers every day for the next week or so. I hope they’re right. We need it.

Back in the tropics: Now Cat 3 (expected to bounce between Cat 3 & 4) Hurricane Lee is still moving NW at a snail’s pace… Growing confidence continues that Lee will stay offshore from the Carolinas and points south. For New England to Nova Scotia, there is still some guidance that bring Lee close to the coast or ashore long term.

Gees!
I can’t even deal with the 90s we get here in the Carolinas

Cool, foggy, good chance for rain later, and currently 59F at 9:15am. The high today might get to 70F. Open all the windows and let that cool air in the house!

High temps in the 80’s, lows in the lower 50’s, clear and dry conditions for the next week. Maybe breaking 90 degrees next Friday.

Ahh two days straight of highs in the high 60s (F). Feels good to have some cooler weather.

There was an article in the Denver Post today talking about the cooler temperatures and if they are here to stay. (it seems the answer is mostly yes) but this bit, referencing another stretch of cool temps in August, gave me a giggle:

“False fall” isn’t a real meteorological term, but a local reference to a cold snap that comes near the end of summer and fools people into believing the fall weather will come early. It falls right between “fire season” and “second summer.”

Yeah, that sounds about right. But it seems we may be on the edge of real fall here. Maybe an occasional day that gets to 90 but not many.
