Same. Subaru. I hate it when a mechanic turns them off, which they always do.
Ah, see, my Honda has an “Auto” setting that decides for me whether the lights are on or off. She’s a total nanny, so I know she’s erring on the side of safety, and even the mechanics don’t touch it.
My Prius auto-detects how dark it is and turns on the lights if it’s too dark. And, of course, turns them off if you stop the car.
Damn it, @Aquarius!
Yeah well your cars think they’re so smart.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I NEED MS PAINT TO BE AS PRIMITIVE AS POSSIBLE
Wouldn’t surprise me?
If it’s any consolation, I fight with her a lot. She puts up this smarmy little “Driver Attention Low? ” graphic and I spend the next five miles describing parts of the robot anatomy and things she’s encouraged to do to them.
There’s a Civic sitting in my driveway on its six inches of ground clearance just waiting to have another part of its cheap plastic skid plate ripped off by a frozen pile of snowplow slush. Smarty car.
I have to admit I dislike the “auto-on” headlight feature, because it doesn’t work when it’s bright out but visibility is poor. People don’t think to override it in those conditions.
Word of warning - it seems that the favorite pastime for some dealership techs is to turn off headlights/auto-on while the car is in the dark service bay… then neglect to change it back.
Way too many people are expecting the feature to just work, then get on the road and are lost in how to fix it. “It always just worked, I don’t know what to do “.
I’ve helped a few people with this over the years.
Sigh
Early trip Arby’s and no one’s opened the store by 10am and after sitting at the drive thru speaker a good 5 minutes I pulled around to the window and the workers ar just mozzying around not even paying attention that they should be open…
Finally a worker comes to the window with this attitude like wtf am I even doing here, takes my order, enters it in wrong and almost over charges me… The car behind, I here them trying to get her order right as well. Sounds like a case of the Wednesdays for sure
I wish my car was more like that – I have a RAV4 and the auto headlights works well but they tend not to come on if it’s only lightly raining. I’m in California where “wipers on, lights on” is the law, and it’s one that almost 20% of people follow! So sometimes I have to switch it from auto to manually on. My previous car would turn the lights on if a bird flew in front of the sun, so I never had to worry about them.
“Mozzying”?
They were throwing mozzarella sticks at you?
I hope you had a net handy.
Moseying.
Spell check wasn’t working on my phone at the time while I was waiting on my order
Trying to imagine catching unsolicited cheese sticks in a butterfly net then deciding to, what, eat them? I think I’d return fire.
mmmmmmm unsolicited cheese sticks… mmmmmmm
Unsolicited Cheese Sticks.
A side project of The String Cheese Incident, I’m sure.
If they’re Arby’s cheese sticks, they are always solicited.
