Oops, almost forgot — I re-listened to Jonah’s “Let Me Watch Your Movie With You” podcast the other day. He had Trace and Kevin as guests and recorded it as a commentary track for MST3K: The Movie.
They make good points that, while not perfect, This Island Earth and Marooned are not bad movies in spite of their cheesiness. In the case of the latter, Joe Dante was apparently furious MST3K ever considered riffing it. (And I love Joe Dante!)
