Where I work, the song “Le Freak” by Chic has started on massive rotation. So much so that we kept a log of how many times it played in a single day. In the end, it worked out to about twice an hour. Thank goodness it’s a fantastic song, so no one is sick of it. AND we just found out they’re using it in some promotion for an item we don’t even carry in our store which made it all the more funny. FREAK OUT!
I read somewhere that “le fric” (or some such) is French slang for money, so a lot of people in France thought/think that’s what the song is about. and that a bank even used it in a commercial. Maybe it’s true. I like to think it is.
