Aside from being Big Jake in Sidehackers and Chief Thor in Starcrash, Robert Tessier served in the armed forces and saw action in Korea as a paratrooper and earning both a Silver Star and a Purple Heart, and in addition was an accomplished motorcycle rider and circus stunt performer.
He also was in three Burt Reynolds films…The Longest Yard, Hooper and Cannonball Run.
Also Future Force, and he was on an episode of The Master (of Master Ninja I and II fame). Oooooh, also Manimal!
And he just looked like a badass!

To be fair, everyone in the 70s was in at least three Burt Reynolds films. I was born in 1977 and I’m still in Smokey and the Bandit, Semi-Tough and Starting Over.
