I’d like to think that there really is a procedure labeled “address change for one-man email providers with recently deceased owners “
Is your email provider @onemale.com?
So… NOT a new member, but I can’t find it posted anywhere in the rules… are we allowed to post links to sites that have the episodes that are NOT available on the Gizmoplex?
If not, can I get a link to where that posted rule is? I couldn’t find it for the life of me!
It is not encouraged.

In addition, it’s better not to because why tip off joy killers who want to harsh your enjoyment of something that you couldn’t even buy right now if you wanted to (thanks to them)?
We need a rogue satellite or some kind arcane hat code or something for this manner of illicit communication.
Thank you, I came back to post exactly this.
This is what I see when I looked:
- DON’T PROMOTE ILLEGAL STUFF.
Don’t try to sell unlicensed MST3K things. And please don’t advocate for file-sharing of episodes that are available to buy legally. “Keep circulating the tapes” is an important tenet of MST3K’s history, but it hits different in a world where cable television is less of a factor. At its core, “circulating the tapes” means we want you to share the show with people in ways that support its continued existence. Pirated episodes hurt the show, especially when legal copies are easy to get.
This doesn’t appear to rule out episodes that are NOT for sale and are not “easy to get” legally.
So, now Im confused.
Thank you, I came back to post exactly this.
It’s no use to tell me in increasingly emphatic tones that you can’t sell me a copy of The Final Sacrifice. I’ll just keep going “Ohhhh, suuuuure” while winking broadly and shoving more cash at you.
I hope this helps:
Making an unlicensed copy of an episode available to view or download is copyright infringement, i.e., illegal stuff. Posting a link on this forum to the available unlicensed copy is promoting illegal stuff. Promoting illegal stuff is not allowed.
If you think we need to update the FAQ to make this clearer, we can do that.
Offering a licensed copy of an unavailable episode, e.g., selling or giving away an original, legally-purchased disc is not “illegal stuff” and would not violate the rules.
Please do. My autistic brain needs things to be as clear and explicit as possible. It doesn’t work well in gray areas. I’m trying daily to work on that, but it seems to be an eternal struggle.
MOD HAT:
The FAQ has been updated with the following addition to Rule 5 in bold text.
5. DON’T PROMOTE ILLEGAL STUFF.
Posting links to currently unavailable episodes also hampers any negotiations happening now or in the future to regain the rights to those episodes. In short, sharing links to pirated content is illegal and will be removed.
Note that this update is NOT a rule change. The rule has always been interpreted as prohibiting all illegal conduct or promotion of such illegal conduct.
Hi. Mr_Boogalow here (formerly the esteemed Professor_Lembach - I couldn’t change my email, so I started a new account.)
I’m really only interested in the out of context (2) thread. However, I’m getting this message after having posted much more than 3 times.
Could I get this restriction lifted please?
But-- every time you reiterate the rule, I just want even more to pretend I’m a swarthy pirate!
That’s a forum setting. not anything we can do. I can change your email though If you want to go back to your old account
That’ll work. Post it here or in a private message?
