Wikipedia on How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying:

The original Broadway production credited the choreography to an obscure dance director named Hugh Lambert, while the much better-known Bob Fosse received only a “musical staging by…” credit. Abe Burrows explains this in his autobiography Honest, Abe .

Oh, that must be an interesting story.

Burrows also reveals that another crisis arose in rehearsals when former recording star Rudy Vallée wanted to interpolate some of his hit songs from the 1930s.

Oh, I love a good Rudy Vallee story, I’ll read Honest, Abe.

Hugh Lambert is not mentioned at all. Bob Fosse gets a mention: “Eventually, Bob Fosse, who staged our musical numbers, turned this into a funny, exciting song-and-dance number…”

Rudy Vallee is mentioned quite a few times, since they worked together several times over the years. But never once does he say anything about Vallee wanting to put his old hits into the movie.
