Gizmoplex Android app won't stop asking me to update

Every time I open the Gizmoplex app on my Chromebook, I get a notification bar at the top saying I need to update the app to the latest version. It even has a handy button to do so. But when I click that button, it takes me to the Google Play Store page for the app, which says that I have the latest version. If I close the notification bar, it just pops right back up, insisting that I need to update the app.

The same thing happens on my Android phone.

It’s a minor issue. The app still works. I can get to my library and watch videos without any problems. But I’m confused about what’s going on.
