Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but the soundtrack to one of my Top 10 bad movies of all time, Summer Lovers, is excellent.

Tina Turner (just before her huge comeback), Heaven 17, Nona Hendryx, Pointer Sisters, Depeche Mode. And bits of lovely ambient score by Basil Poledouris.

In the movie, should one be (un)lucky enough to see it, there are two great songs by Prince recorded right before he became famous. (“Sexuality” and “Sexy Dancer”).

But they aren’t on the LP soundtrack!

“The Look of Love,” which debuted in the 1967 fustercluck Casino Royale, might hold the record for greatest chasm between movie quality and quality of an original song in said movie.

I also really liked the score from the 1978 animated (half) version of The Lord of the Rings… though I don’t hate that movie as much as most people.

Nice pick!!!

The soundtrack / score to the 1967 Casino Royale is also legendary among audiophiles for the quality of the recording itself.

The movie, however, is an unwatchable MESS.
