I loved 3D, still do. As fun gimmick (Resident Evil Afterlife) as part of the art deign (Dredd) or as a story telling tool (Hugo)… but I’ve talked about that elsewhere…

I don’t know what I saw of the classics, if anything. I used to enjoy the 3D IMAX stuff in the early 00, Haunted Castle, Ghosts of the Abyss, etc. I’m not sure when the polarized glasses came into being, so I don’t know if this thread is intended for me… but I loved Hugo in 3D, Megamind was amazing, it wasn’t showy, but the depth of it, it put me right into that world. Agree with you on Hugo and Cave of Forgotten Dreams - Another where it used well, artistically if you will, was Wim Wenders Pina… it put you right on stage, next to the dancers. Did I see Coraline in 3D? I believe so. Most of my viewing was in a theater setting, IMAX if available. And there so much that sticks to my memory… like the live-action Ghost in the Shell, there was so much detail in every corner of the screen and whatnot, I could barely drink it all in.

I haven’t seen one in a few years, I was set to see Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 that way, but there was some screw-up, so I wound up with 2D, which was fine, the visuals were amazing.
