What song do you have stuck in your head right now?

The Monkees were and are my jam (I prefer them to the Beatles ).

All four men were far more talented than they were given credit for, but Mike Nesmith was something special. “Daily Nightly,” “Circle Sky,” “The Girl I Knew Somewhere,” “Papa Gene’s Blues,” “You Just May Be The One,” and “Sunny Girlfriend” are just some of the gems he wrote - I have more than once just randomly popped off with “She owns and operates her own sunshine factory!” - and his vocals on most of the aforementioned tracks plus “Sweet Young Thing” and “The Door Into Summer” are just dynamite.

(I would be remiss in not pointing out that we do have a Monkees love thread if we’d like to continue the discussion.)
