They can, it will work in the stove, which is vented to the space between the tower and surrounding rock.
LA also has Create Water prepped that will create (up to) 4 gallons of water if they need to refill it, but that water disappears if they donāt use it within 24 hours.
OK, they are free to go up to get water, use the stove and do whatever on the second level until we clear the way for them to go āhome.ā We can let them get food from the top level, but we need to keep the south door of the storage room closed and tell them not to make too much noiseā¦ we donāt want them alerting the guards outside.
As long as Ugālok-go goes first, B will follow him into the other room. As friendly as he seems right now, she will remain alert for possible double crosses.
Ugālok-go explains that the ālobster trapā is no longer in use. Big Boss Sees All used it previously to keep the āfoul onesā out of his domain, and to select those who he would present to the gods for modification. The method of selection seemed to have involved offerings of meat from the meat traps. The āfoul onesā would be allowed to enter and leave meat for the Big Boss, but would have to exit again before the meat was picked up. The Grimlocks who provided the most meat over time were then selected to join the Big Boss (and presumably modified by Imbrex).
He is willing to go first.
What kind of āmeatā have the grimlocks been eating?
Ugālok-go ushers the party through the chain link cage and into a large room. The ornate vaulted ceilings and upper walls indicate that it may once have been some sort of ballroom. although the red brick wall on the East side, looks like it is more recent construction, and is bisecting the room. There is a steel door on the north end of red brick wall, and Ugālok-go point to that as the āmeat trapā. On the other side of the door, there are chunks of unidentifiable (from this distance) meat.
There is a large arched doorway in the northwest wall of the tower itself, which looks like it leads to a tunnel carved out of rock. Ugālok-go indicates that the archway leads to the āOld Wayā from where their ancestors entered the tower, but when they have tried to entered it since they only become confused. It is also where the spider creature who is preying on the apparently lives.
ETA: I only have a couple of Grimlocks represented in the room, but at least two dozen Grimlocks are milling around in this area (including children).
You would need to get a closer look at the meat in the āmeat trapā to be sure. From this distance, though, you are sure that it is not humanoid.
Is the meat simply poisoned, or is there another aspect to the ātrap?ā
LA approaches the meat trap and casts Detect Poison on the meat.
āOh, okay, I was saving theseā¦for laterā¦ā
Coleman takes out a stack of pancakes and disperses them to the child grimlocks. He takes a bit of one to show itās safe.
Medio will also take a look at the Meat Trap. What is it?
Fortunately, Detect Poison can be cast from a distance, and LA does not detect poison. As Johnny approaches the door, he warns everyone to stay back, as his trap sense is going off. The floor in front of the meat is designed to collapse when meat is removed from the hooks.
Iām wondering where these pancakes were stashedā¦
Medio hopefully didnāt pass Johnny to look at it.
Looks like we cross posted, Medio was warned off in time.
Is the meat trap in a corridor or an open area?
Also, where did the grimlocks get the safe meat they used to bring to Big Boss?
Now that you are able to get closer, you can see that it is in a small room.
From the trap. An athletic Grimlock would have a chance of grabbing meat from the hook, and getting away from the collapsing floor trap.
Are the hunks of meat light enough for Bonnie to get with mage hand?
The Grimlocks seem to be trapped between Scylla and Charibdis in this area. One way lies death, the other lies doom.
