Are you ready for some football?

Movement all over the league today.

Broncos try to shore up their O line by signing 49ers right tackle Mike McGlinchey (5 years, $87.5 million), Ravens left guard Ben Powers (4 years, $52M) and Jaguars tight end Chris Manhertz (2 years, $6M), a blocking specialist.

Viking overspend on a Raven TE, Josh Oliver (seriously, after a making a trade for Hockenson last season?)

The 49ers defense got even stronger with the signing of Eagles DT Javon Hargrave

The Eagles also lost LB T.J. Edwards to the Bears

And the Lions try to address their defensive problems by grabbing Steeler DB Cameron Sutton

Yeah we dumped several veterans in an attempt to create some cap space. I guess I’m glad they are doing something. But until they deal with the Russel Wilson-sized elephant in the room, I’m not sure next season will be much better than last season.

Awwww, a cute little tiny elephant!

Finally! The Bills have restructured the contracts of QB Josh Allen and OLB Von Miller, creating approximately $32M in salary cap space

The Rodgers watch continues, word is he’s made suggestions… er, demands on who else the Jets have to bring in, and they did just signed WR Allan Lazard.

I know he was great, he did some amazing things for us, but I’m sick and tired of him and his lies and selfishness and his lack of accountability, just go, get out of our green and gold hair, and take all your pals with you - the old one past his prime, the younger one who can’t decide whether he can hold on to a pass, or not… take them all, and your chaos and drama and allow us to rebuild… even if we suck, it sucks worse having you around.

End of rant.

On to a team that hasn’t caused me stress of late. The Seahawks signed Dre’Mont Jones from the Broncos. It cost them some cash and they don’t have much room under the cap, so we can expect some cuts and re-workings on some contracts.

He sounds like a solid pickup if he can stay healthy, though I wasn’t happy to read that he’s not a run stopper… we really, seriously need run stoppers.

They did lose Penny to the Eagles. A top-notch RB, if, if he can stay healthy. Hawks will have to sign another RB, maybe address that in the draft as they need more depth.

Veteran free-agent QB Andy Dalton is expected to reach agreement on a two-year, $10 million deal that includes $8 million fully guaranteed with the Carolina Panthers, per source. Contract max value is $17 million.

The Colts are releasing QB Matt Ryan.
The Colts will save $17.205M in cap room and incur $18M in dead money with the move.

Andy Dalton! Less likely than some to lose the game for you!

The Bills have just converted the base salary of WR Stefon Diggs contract into a signing bonus. Doing so will create an additional $5.4M in cap space for the team.
Now we’re ready to make a splash in free agency :+1:

Aaron Rodgers told Pat McAfee on his show that he intends to play for the Jets and the teams need to work out compensation.
Aaron Rodgers says his intentions are to play for the Jets and this decision was made days ago, the hold up is the Packers and Jets as they argue over compensation. Rodgers also denies ever having a “Wish List” saying that was made up and he’s never demanded anything :open_mouth:

Poyer looks to be staying in Buffalo :open_mouth:

Breaking: The Buccaneers are signing QB Baker Mayfield to a 1-year deal worth up to $8.5M, per source.

And now Ezekiel Elliot has been released from Dallas so the rumor mills already start that he could come to Buffalo

The Bills are signing Texans QB Kyle Allen to be Josh Allen’s new Backup QB

That lines up with something I saw earlier in the morn that it was the Packers, not Aaron who were the problem. They want 2 #1s like the Lions got with the Stafford trade, Jets so far, won’t give them that (after Rodgers had a down year, I can’t say I blame them).

Mark Murphy keeps acting like they (The Pack) want to move on, then move on, take the 1 #1 (and whatever late round compensation is being thrown out there, a #3 this year or next?) and be happy with it. You get something for someone you don’t want anymore. Sign the divorce papers already!

Aaron has finally stated his intentions, that’s out of the way at least.

Zeke wore out quickly like most backs. They franchised Pollard, and I’ll bet they pick another somewhere around the 4th round.

If the Bills need two yards, or a really good pass blocker, they should grab him.

Yeah we’ve heard that rumor along with Dalvin Cook teaming up with his brother so who knows who we’ll get.

Just watched the highlight of the XFL Seattle Sea Dragons game. They defeated the undefeated Houston Roughnecks (coached by Wade Phillips). This win streak goes back to the pandemic shorted season, where they went 5-0 (they were 4-0 this season going into the game)

They almost threw it away at the end, and they finally made a 3-point conversion (why they always go for those I don’t know, they’ve lost points and lost games not going for the 1 on a kick)

Oh, and Houston also has some butt ugly unis, the helmets… looks like they couldn’t decide on a primary color, so they just threw in all three (I think the St. Louis team is the only one with a decent looking uniform… the rest, the colors clash (Seattle) or they look like they were created by a 5-year-old)

The Broncos showed interest in S Nick Scott, who went to the Bengals instead, next they looked at C.J. Gardner-Johnson, but the safety elected to sign with the Lions.

Detroit’s been retooling their defensive backfield, and I’m curious to see how this works out for them as they showed improvement last season.

I’m also curious how all these moves will affect other teams. The Eagles have lost some players, who are they replacing them with? The Bengals have had to shuffle their D-backfield around.

The Hawks have been uncharacteristically active, the Bears have been getting high grades for their FA moves.

Will these teams and others get better, get weaker, or be about the same?

The Panthers continue to make moves :open_mouth:
The Panthers are signing former Vikings’ WR Adam Thielen to a 3-year deal.
Adam Thielen has 36 Rec TD over the last 4 seasons
That’s more than players like:
Stefon Diggs
Cooper Kupp
A.J. Brown
DK Metcalf
Amari Cooper
George Kittle
DeAndre Hopkins
Keenan Allen
