Frightening Fall, Freaky Fall, Occult October, Afterlife Autumn.
I feel like I somehow predicted the 3 movies correctly.
It just occurred to me that there is very likely to be a couple Holiday-Themed vaults later this year. Here are my picks:
Halloween/October (Lots of horror flicks to pick from, but Iâll try to pick the most Halloween choices I can think of):
Manos: The Hands of Fate
Horror at Party Beach
The Unearthly
The Incredibly Strange Creatures That Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies
The Brain that Wouldnât Die
Zombie Nightmare
Christmas!:
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
Santa Claus
Jack Frost
Mitchell (This gets in sheerly on Die Hard logic.)
Space Mutiny (I donât know if this helps, but Ho Ho Ho!)
The Day the Earth Froze
Keep in mind for December there are three Special Events in December before the Christmas Dragon episode. Chances are those are going to be the previous Christmas themes movies, so I doubt they would be Vault Picks.
Spies and Crimefighters:
Secret Agent Super Dragon
Operation Double 007
Danger!! Death Ray
Code Name: Diamond Head
Angels Revenge
Final Justice
Leaving out obvious choice Mitchell because itâs already been the subject of so many tributes and replays.
The Worst We Could Find:
The Castle of Fu Manchu
Manos: The Hands of Fate
The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies
Starfighters
Red Zone Cuba
The Creeping Terror
Tor & Bela: A love Story
The Corpse Vanishes
The Unearthly
The Beast of Yucca Flats
The Phantom Creeps
Bride of the Monster
âGood Boys Gone Boringâ
The troublemakers, hoodlums, neâer-do-wells and no-good-nicks collected together somehow still are not even moderately intimidatingâŚ
Side Hackers
Wild Rebels
The Beatniks
Daddy-O
Teen-Age Crime Wave
I Accuse My Parents
The Paycheck Collection
Octoberâs theme could be âWicked Witchcraft:â
Hercules Unchained
The Day the Earth Froze
Zombie Nightmare
Incredibly Strange Creatures etc.
Devil Doll
The Touch of Satan
+Catalina Caper (Little Richard)
Experiments Of Unusual Size!
All giants all the time, except for things that are tiny!
In September they have 2 options to draw from - Sumuru, which had me thinking âSpies and Agentsâ, sadly, no streaming rights for H.A.R.M. or Riding with Death, but theyâd have those you mentioned and a few othersâŚ
Secret Agent Super Dragon
Operation Double 007
Danger!! Death Ray
Code Name: Diamond Head
Mighty Jack
Rocket Attack, U.S.A.
Needing a 7th - Project Moonbase, Human Duplicators, Radar Secret Service
Thereâs enough for the 6 Vault Picks and a tribute
If they go with The Shape of Things to Come, at monthâs end, thereâs no end of space adventure they can tap into, so thatâs an easy theme.
Guessing that this will be a spy theme - what do you think weâll get? I guess:
(Agent for H.A.R.M. is not available, BTW)
- Danger!! Death Ray
- Operation Kid Brother
- Project Moonbase
- Radar Secret Service
- Rocket Attack U.S.A.
- Secret Agent Super Dragon
I donât think they have the rights to that one anymore.
They do, but itâs listed twice in the Gizmoplex for some reason. One of them doesnât work.
Someone brought up a KTMA month in the live thread. This was in reference to Million Eyes of Sumuru being brought back for Season 13. I absolutely loved this idea and would not be opposed.
The only downside may be rights issues. Then again, there are a fair amount of movies that were eventually re-riffed in later seasons that could be reused.
It also fits in with the âlimited time onlyâ appeal of the Vault Picks - knowing that MSTies only have one month to see a handful of original KTMA episodes in higher quality could be a big incentive to subscribe.
Anyway, I donât realistically see this happening anytime soon but it could be something to consider if another KTMA film gets re-riffed in future seasons (City on Fire? hmm⌠)
This is already being discussed in this thread:
The common trait of Septemberâs experiments is that theyâre both adapted from print medium fiction. So it seems reasonable that the Vault Picks and the Tribute special will follow this. It seems likely that theyâll be among the following, which are all adaptations of print fiction.
Bloodlust
The Castle of Fu Manchu
Devil Doll
Diabolik
First Spaceship on Venus
The Fugitive Alien âmoviesâ
Kitten with a Whip
Outlaw
Overdrawn at the Memory Bank
The Painted Hills
Space Travelers
Village of the Giants
So September sees the release of Million Eyes of Sumaru and Shape of Things to Come, which actually opens up an interesting vault theme possibility:
Movies Also Riffed by Rifftrax:
Manos: The Hands of Fate
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
Merlinâs Shop of Mystical Wonders
Jack Frost
Angelâs Revenge
Space Mutiny
